James Loves You
Wasn't a big fan of her studio output, but this live album has totally changed my perception of her art! Her voice is so dynamic and powerful here. The instrumentals complement her range and intensity perfectly on every track. Looking forward to giving her studio discography a 2nd chance after seeing how much I love this album.
Favorite track: Pomperipossa (Live at Montreux).
Anybody who has witnessed a live performance of Anna von Hausswolff and band can attest to the extraordinary and commanding nature of the experience. The distinctive music, as captured across five full-length albums, comes to life, shifting from hypnotic and mantra-like moods to thunderous drama, dissonance and cacophony. The musicians master playful dynamics and wield immense power.
Across six pieces, Anna von Hausswolff performs sensational renditions of fan-favourites from the two beloved albums; The Miraculous and Dead Magic, with the backing of a full band including additional vocals from her sister / cinematographer Maria von Hausswolff

Man, what Sunn O))) does. If anyone else did it, it would not just be boring, it would be pretentious. But Sunn O))) really submerges you in cosmic waves like few can. Reflections on single notes can sink you into the deeps, leaving you astonished that 14 minutes went by in a colorful cloud. Every aural event is clearly meditated upon for inclusion in the whole, creating a thick sonic sauce – cooked down to the most fundamental and deepest flavors. pinkytheent

A big, epic, monstrous beast of an album in which everything that was promised by the previous two records comes to fruition. The final track is an almost ambient palate cleanser. Listeners who have only heard her debut album will be so phenomenally unprepared for what they're about to hear. Ed Martin

One of my favorite collaborations of all time. I discovered Emma Ruth Rundle in playlists of Gothic Americana and Thou I knew through collaborations with the Body. The Sacred Bones Label continues to impress me with their catalogue. Alexander Brill
